I've been doing research on what upscales the Wii to 1080p for the best price and best quality. The Denon 790 seems to be the best bet so far and you can find one on Amazon.com for about $415. I've tried the "XCM Mega Cool 1080p vga box" and while it's ok and does scale to 1600 x 1200 on my LCD HDTV it doesn't actually scale to 1080p without vertical lines that are rather bothersome (which explains why it's only $70). The XCM also doesn't really do any Deinterlacing which gets rid of those annoying jaggies that you see in all Wii games on a big screen HDTV. The Denon 790 does all of that and more since you can hook up your old DVD player to the receiver and it will upscale and deinterlace the signal to glorious 1080p. The Denon 790 uses the latest Video Reference Series processor that just came out about 2 months ago allowing it to give you quality better than most upscalers out there. I suggest checking it out.
