In a recent interview Valve's CEO and co-founder Gabe Newell had this to say about the Wii U:
"Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation," he told Joystiq. "It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it'll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model." Valve has yet to release any of its games on a Nintendo console, though Gabe told us, "We've always loved Nintendo."

This is really great news for Nintendo fans. Valve is one of the best game companies in the world and are behind the ever popular video game download client "Steam". A relationship between Nintendo and Valve has never happened before so it can only be a good thing.

lets be honest very over rated dev house but still great news half life 2 is really all they did to warrant the hype and yes that hype was milked by valve,and running around shooting zombies soon gets boring cough left for dead
I can deal with opinions, but Anon who made the first post is so full of it.
Valve is not over rated. And shooting zombies in Left 4 Dead does not get boring. In fact, as a Resident Evil fan, I can tell that guy that we RE fans feel that a game like L4D actually delivers what the RE franchise used to deliver: exciting gameplay and actual scares.
I suggest Anon there to go back to playing Angry Birds on his iPad and STFU because Valve coming to the Wii U is VERY big news.
I mean, this sort of news stories bug the hell out of so-called 'core' gamers that play on the PS3 and 360. Because when a dev house says that the Wii U is more powerful than what is available on home consoles at present, that means that potentially, they could produce a game that will only play on the Wii U.
And thus, these 'core' gamers will be left out in the cold (like what Wii experienced with a lot of nex-gen games that didn't come their way). So they're quick at trying to deminish the value of these stories. Trying to convince people that its not a big deal.
Well it IS. It is a big deal.
Because the ONLY way the Wii U will gain any traction among hardcore gamers, is IF it offers exclusive core games that they cannot experience anywhere else on the home console front.
If more exclusive 3rd party core games make it to the Wii U, it will be very difficult for core gamers to ignore it. Add to that, the core games coming from Nintendo that will look awesome in HD and play just as good as they always have.
