This is a rather interesting rumor being spread around the GAF by a very reliable source close to the industry. The rumor is that Crytek has been working on a Wii U tech demo to be shown behind closed doors to developers at GDC next month.

Seeing how impressive CryEngine 3 has been so far on the 7 year old Xbox 360 with Crysis 2 and a Crysis 1 PC port, it should be pretty amazing what games could look like on the Wii U with it's updated graphics technology and modern GPU. Hopefully after GDC we get some more leaks as to the performance of the Wii U, but I think having Crytek go out of their way to demonstrate their engine on the system might be the most telling aspect.

isn't cryses 2 made with the crytech 2 not 3 engine am i confused here !!!!!
wasn't cryses on pc the crytech engine then they made a cross platform engine version 2 aka crytech 2 and this in fact a 3rd engine
was cryses made on crytech 2 engine not 1
i thought it was pc cryses made on crytech engine and pc x360/ps3 crYses 2 was mode with crytech 2
i wasnt even aware it was a 3rd engine NOT THAT ENGINES ACTUALLY EXIST ITS INDUSTRY MARKETING BULL ITS SOFTWARE THERES NO SUCH THING AS A SET IN STONE MAGIC ENGINE it doesn't work like that.....

Crysis 2 was "achieved with CryEngine 3" just as the game itself says when you boot it up on PC.
CryEngine 2 was made pretty much only to run on a PC, that was why when Crytek ported Crysis 1 to Xbox 360/PS3 they had to use CryEngine 3 to do it. The game looked ok, but definitely still a downgrade from Crysis 1 on PC.
Farcry was done on the original CryEngine.
Crysis 1 was done on CryEngine 2 and Crysis 2 on CryEngine 3.
They came back and ported Crysis 1 over to the CryEngine 3 for release on consoles last October.
Yeah - A little confusing for sure, but nothing a little Wikipedia won't cure :)

well my industry insider lol has informed me that TIMESPLITTERS 4 is up and running on wiiU ,and its 100% built here in the uk on crytech 3 a new advanced version on wiiU his freelance and has most defo worked there its 60fps also and supports both wiiu pad and wii remote and chuck....
