People seemed to be surprised that Nintendo's first internally
made Smart Phone app is not actually a game? Look at exactly what Iwata said
very early in 2015 in an interview Nekkei:
Q:
The market for smartphone games continues to expand. What are your plans for
this category?
A: In
the past, I have opposed making smartphone and tablet versions of Nintendo
titles. Prices for content aimed at smartphones and tablets are falling
quickly. I am still wary of the category. We intend to develop products
that will allow customers to identify with Nintendo products and make people
pay attention to Nintendo games.
For
example, some Nintendo game consoles incorporate Mii, which creates a digital
avatar to represent players. It would be fun for players to use their Mii
characters as icons on social media. We are currently developing an application that will allow
users to do that. The app will be announced around the time our full-year
results are released.
He
even said exactly when the App would be announced, right at the full-year
results meeting, which just happened yesterday. Amazing.
nice to see your awake metaldave
ReplyDeletepitty your blog doesnt get more attention, you talk about the things that matter, its all comming together with nintendo its going to seem a long wait but by end 2016...it will all be in place.
my nintendo acvounts will interact with all nintendo entertainment including parks cinema media and the games...i cannot wait to see all this in the flesh nintendo are changing i can see a great future, but all i care about is the GAMING....
Thanks for your comment, appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteyour the only blog-site iv seen mention this and its clear your on the ball with news and history, you also are trying to get people thinking about the more important things like controls and how nx works, instead of borring generic reporting...
ReplyDeleteblogs sites need to stop with borring clickbaits and generic news coverage and actually try to ignite debate, and ideas like you have,i always cgeck the blog because at times you are talking about the cool stuff
everyone is talking about generic stuff like online chat, accounts...i was more concerned about innovation and GAMEPLAY
notice pachter has come out his hole undera rock, just as nintendo's president talks about wii era levels of profit with there new bussiness plan and nx and mobile..
ReplyDeletepachter is only seen when nintendo is doing well, its not coinsidence he is talking nonsense just as nintendo's plan is coming together..
his bosses have clearly pushed him out to shut his mouth off as nintendos new era is around the courner,as nintendo starts to become the big thing again, watch how he will have more to say about how doomed they are...
These shareholders are the dumbest people I have ever seen. I knew right when the DeNA deal was done that there was little interest in Nintendo going mobile. They wanted DeNA's expertise in on-line infurstruture; and the five games in 2016 and 2017 were simply there to make the deal happen. Nintendo couldn't have cared less about mobile. If they did; they wouldn't be signing five games over two years, it would be more like ten games a year. This is a case of shareholders hearing a headline which the press knew was wrong and taking it as fact, instead of actually reading the whole deal from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteAs for Miitomo; don't care. Another reason why no one should be surprised since day one when the deal was made, instead of screaming bloody murder on the day they announced the first title. Shareholders: You did yourselves in on this one.
