*Speculation* NX could launch with 3 SKU's?

Since it was somewhat revealed through the Wall Street Journal and somewhat speculated for while, my thoughts are that the NX is a home console and a portable, but Nintendo will need to have separate and bundled options to sell the idea

For the "NX Home" and "NX Portable" they will probably have 3 different options:

NX Portable SKU $199,
NX Console SKU (with a controller without a screen if necessary) for $299.
NX Ultimate at $450-$499, bundling both devices together on package for a possibly lowered price than buy separately.

Also, Nintendo is most likely giving the NX more power than their previous two consoles due to developers directly saying they would not release ports on Wii U due not only to sales, but due to the difficulty with the system being able to run ports from PS4 and Xbox One easily, porting to the Wii U became not worth it basically. Ease of porting to the NX is probably one of the big reasons for boosting the specs, the other reason is to the give the NX a longer life than the short lived Wii U, and make their fans very satisfied in the end.

Having the console also have the "take on the go" Handheld option can also bring in the over 50 million in 3DS user base, not to mention the controller innovations Nintendo can add and has hinted at in patents.

  1. what if the mobile unit s a long range gamepad i.e a wifi gamepad and not a stand alone handheld-controller...

gamepad can already do this the tech is there to support bounced signal and signal boosters, andbinternet wifi, broadcom etc have said a priority link for wifi globally from gamepad to your home console is doable..

just a thought is it a evolved wiiU and not a seperate handheld system with its own hardware...

  2. Is that really possible without it basically being streaming like a PS4 to Vita? Interesting idea, I guess we'll see which direction they take, seems difficult though without the Portable being standalone.

  3. agreed metaldave..i see two posabillitys...

many handhelds streaming-taking data from a home unit as data packets then running a lower res version on the handheld (with its wn spec) so lets say all are family members have a handheld they can all run NX games from the same harddrive at home on NX and stream in -load in games then play them on the go I AGREE THIS IS MORE LIKELY...

but what if the idea is to stream and play from your own NX at home or on the go using a lag free system,i first heardabout this in a small game store in the very small place i now live,i thought the guy was bulshitting the customer...saying oh iv heard gamepad could work on a plain or train etc...but as far as i know its only local like upto a room away...

i thought why is he saying this, found a gamepad article online broadcom were saying gamepad isactually able to link dirrectly to wiiu uoto 26 feet or so but in a rural setting no phone masts and compeatingradio singnals its been tested at over 100 feet...

the signal can be repeated and bounced long range say a few miles,BUT ALSO made to work over the global internet as a streaming device with priority pear to pear to your console at home..they were sugesting a lag free remote wifi conection to the console stream gaming..

now we know this is laggy and disconnected playstation share is awful and that stream console thing flopped hard it didnt work, but this priority pear to pear wiiu gamepad idea but done over the net could be much better and actually give lag free smooth conection...

im just wondering is that the gimmick innovation with nx...but id still prefer handhelds able to run games themselves then familys can share NX with a bunch of handhelds...loading any file then running it..
