The SMD64 youtube channel is the go-to channel for everything Metroid. Period.
I genuinely loved the fact when I first learned (from this channel) that Retro is investigating using the latest technologies such as potentially FluidNinja for Metroid Prime 4 and future games.
It will be nothing short of amazing. Retro does not half-step. If it does something, it will make a genuine effort to showcase what the hardware is capable of. I am excited and patient. Unlike most other fanboys out there that have become too neurotic and overcritical from delays and/or have emotionally given Metroid Dread undeserved criticism for the player getting stuck and having to go online to find a gamefaq solution to progress further. Get over it.
Please make note and possibly further investigate that the channel has not really touched on the topic that Retro Studios once stated they would like to use Raytracing in a future title and if such future title was for Switch (which doesnt support the technology) that Retro would find a way to emulate/fake the Raytracing, as best as possible.
Now that there is growing speculation that there is a next-gen Nintendo console launching no later than Xmas 2023, Retro will be able to freely produce Raytracing and not have to fake it.
IMO I always believed the delays of Metroid Prime 4 and Breath of the Wild 2 would be due to the cross-gen support for the next-gen hardware and the current-gen hardware and support for Raytracing and other techs (for the next-gen versions) and that these 2 titles would be used to showcase the tech capabilities of Nintendo's next console. Keep a lookout for the maginificent fire flame particles when Link holds a torch and the fire-explosions when Link uses a fire-arrow with his bow. They will be spectacular in the next-gen.

IMO with M$ buying Activision (at all cost and reassuring gamers that it will bring many franchises to all platforms) but IMO this monopolizing acquisition is not so games can become cross-platform games but the real reason is because M$ will sneakily enter the handheld gaming market (using a deal with Samsung for the first generation hardware) using Call of Duty etc to king-hit both Nintendo's Switch platform & Valve's Steamdeck platform, so it is very important Nintendo launch Metroid Prime 4 and Breath of the Wild 2 on new hardware showcasing Raytracing & FuidNinja technology, before M$ does it with CoD on its new handheld and brags about it for an eternity at every gaming convention.
Also another important note is that Metroid (although initially wasnt one of Nintendo's favorite franchises) is one of the greatest game franchises ever in the gaming industry because of the subtle references to Earth, Wind, Fire and Ice elements. Yes, the Legend of Zelda does have these elements but so does Metroid. So having these 4 elements enhanced by FluidNinja is going to be jaw dropping but the fact that Retro Studios is known for being innovative and creative, Retro might use FluidNinja far beyond what the usual average mortal minds would be using it for. Basically everyone is waiting to see Retro's innovative ideas in Metroid Prime 4 so they can copy the ideas in their upcoming games, just as they did for Metroid Prime 1.
If Retro get the game trailer right for Metroid 4, its going to be bigger than the hype that the Metroid Prime demo trailer shown at the Spaceworld 2000 convention. Not to mention the Metroid fully animated CGI movie (using Metroid Prime 4 in-game assets such as character models) that would probably get announced December 2023, well after Metroid 4 launches, to keep fanboys loyal to the franchise and to reward them for their patience with Retro and with the Metroid Franchise. I agree that Metroid Dread is one of the most perfect games ever made and is definitely easily one of the best side-scrolling platforms games ever made, if not the best.

2023 is going to be a Megaton year for Nintendo. New Metroid. New Zelda. New hardware.
